SUSTAINABILITY
All aspects of the business are built with sustainability in mind. My clothes are made from GOTS certified organic cotton or high quality deadstock, with labels made from recycled polyester and buttons that are naturally derived and biodegradable. Zips are manufactured using eco finishes in a facility that recycle all of their production waste and use regenerated fibres.
Within the studio, all toile fabrics are used and reused as much as possible before being recycled through First Mile when they’re no longer able to be reincarnated.
MANUFACTURE:
All clothes are made using fair and sustainable working practices, combined with the best quality of sustainable fabric and components I can find. All of the clothes for this season are made by myself in East London, although samples are currently being developed at a small factory near Porto, Portugal, to create a few runs of beautifully-made shirts. I speak directly with the factory and plans are in motion to visit them in the coming months - watch this space!
MATERIALS:
Organic and natural materials are sourced from Europe, and the UK where possible, to minimise emissions from shipping. Packaging of orders minimises plastics use by using home-compostable mailers and paper wrapping. Any garment bags are made from Hydropol, a marine-safe biodegradable bioplastic.
The goal is to continue improving all processes wherever there’s an opportunity, ensuring that they’re as sustainable as possible throughout the design, manufacture and lifetime of the garment. It’s equally as important that the people working at all points in the supply chain are paid fairly, work reasonable hours and are treated with respect.
